1) On Food
2) On Shopping
3) On how a beautiful saturday should be spent
It can be so easy; when expectation is lowered
Devoted the whole morning with the last few chapters of "Mistress of the game" while the man was out busy making appointments for Lance.
Arent terribly impressed with the ending (well there isnt any, strictly saying) and what can u say when an amateur like me detected errors such as "Singaporian" and "thick, blond mop of old", when it should be "gold"?
Anywho, none that i can think of can really replace the great Sidney Sheldon. I say i will give it a 2.5 out of 5, really.
We had a simple dinner at Lerk Thai Marina Square this evening.
Im trying to keep to my resolution of blogging less on food since even the face seems rounder and fuller these days.
But i simply have to blog about this particular staff from L.T.
We have always enjoying dining at this particular Thai chain. Staffs are always attentive and polite, maybe its just how they treat one another back in their own country. The one who was leading us to our place was all lovely and pleasant. But i cant say the same to the one who took our order.
Upon hearing we are sharing our orders, he had asked rather loudly do we need extra plates for them.
Be it sensitive or whatever, i dun see the need for him to repeat the sentence "Do u need extra plates since you are sharing your food" at two occasions. (roll my eyes) I mean we already had an empty plate each.
Anyway maybe im too passive... Or i should have say yes to the request...
A older Caucasian couple came in asking for a window seat when its packed with diners. However none is available. Can u imagine the same staff walking to yet another couple and requested them to give out their window seats?!
The HB was saying that if a similar situation happens to us, he will have walk out of the place immediately. I guess the young couple is simply too kind hearted. If not of their lemon glass drink which resembles mum's, i will not bear with this either!

we didnt opt for a window seat, prefering having a cosy cushion corner; all time must order: Seafood papaya salad

we were sharing these, and its when the staff started to be rude

delicious bee hoon and 6 pcs tago

i look tired with no makeup on
Actually we were out xmas tree shopping. IKEA has some lovely live ones which will be really difficult to get rid of after the festive season. Had wanted to check out the ones in Carrefour, but they arent catching the man's attention. We ended up going home with no Xmas tree; but a new head gear for my coming D&D.

i hope this will look good for the event; posing with my newest love! Isnt she yummy?
Speaking of which, outfit for today was this long jersey dress i bought awhile but didnt have the chance to wear as yet. Because of this spidery coweb straps in front which totally spolit the look, i have them sewn together while the man was getting ready.

the before and after

am counting down to xmas!

Self Resolution for the rest of Year 2009.
"Thou shalt not blog on so many food entries"
Time to watch the weight pilling around the hip.
They make me look like some sort of cat with whiskers...

Don took this the other day using his D90

Its final, i will most probably settle on a jumbo (or a maxi jumbo; if there is stock for it) rather than the GST.
Dinner was so late at close to 9pm. The HB brought me for a car spin; we had wanted to go somewhere really cozy for steamboat as it had been raining since the nite before. But everywhere we tried were packed. I guess everybody else was having the same craving due to the weather!
We settled on ramen instead. Spicy thai for me, and sichuan for him.

while the man waited impatiently for his order

he decided to take pictures of the wife with and without her new specs

and shared the yummy beancurb and claypot chicken
Goodnite for now peeps. Am going to watch "Coco Chanel" on DVD before turning in.
Thanks to the man who manages to grab a copy from amazon!

from this

to this. Gosh, my face looks even rounder than ever! im trying to live with it, AM trying!

my man after his hair trim
Its been an interesting week dining with the HB.
Apart from the Vietnamese food at Suntec City on Thursday, we had HK local food at Marina Square last nite.
After our haircut today, its the usual Sakae Sushi for dinner.
And HB is going to make Italian pasta tomorrow!
At the rate we are eating, i am not at all surprise when i have difficulty pulling up my beloved skinny jeans from Moschino.
Dinner yesterday at HK restaurant:

my regular fish and egg mee sua, the man had fish soup noodle which is seriously yummy
We washed everything down with the usual yuanyang.

its my 3rd cup of caffeine for that day

meet the junkie and her man
Dinner today at sakae:
Am too depressed to pay much attentions to the cheerful plates running along the belt.
Update? The salmon seems longer than before, and the garlic rice is to die for!

serving seems bigger now that the coloured plates are priced higher.
Was doing my weekly google dancing when the eyes settled stubbornly on the LV Galliera, (yes again!)
As much as i was complaining about how tough the strap felt along my shoulder when i had the bag tried in Paris, somehow i feel it does oxidied beautifully.
And im really zealous when i declare the PM monogram galleria as the perfect bag for both work and weekend shopping. When the man caught me glued to the screen, he had hinted the upcoming trip to HK.
Oooh... but its my birthday soon too!
After chatting with Pals for Life (PFL) the other day, she mentioned about getting her second Chanel.
Good God.
Its the most coveted bag ever by the 2 of us, since we were in our late teens; when our common girlfriends started salsa past us with their cavier 2.55.
Shoots.
She bought her first jumbo a few years ago and i am sooo jealous! (if only i dun travel so much, she insisted)
Now with the stronger SIN currency and weaker pounds, she is thinking of getting a red lambskin.
Please let someone kind buy me a double flap cavier!

Im never a fan of korean series.
All the crying and mushy story plots are too corny for my liking.
But SIL highly recommended this.
And now it is making me and HB sleepless most nites.
Because im not patient enough to catch the pathetic single episode aired every saturday on channel u, i cheated and just finished episode 8 yesterday before bed.
* And i didnt even watch the taiwan version.

We had a 'late' outing as the nite before was devotedly spent on my new toy.
Headed for town as the man had been nagging me about the tags that are ready for collections months ago. Joe, the staff who attended to me the another time, took the trouble to gift wrapped the tags after knowing they are gifts.
Thank u!
Was heading back to the carpark at level 6 when i spotted an ex student, whom i had taught years ago.
The polite gal had waved and called out 谢老师when her mum decided to say a-little-too-loudly 'that one a teacher meh?'
The man had laughed and said its high time i dressed like a teacher.
To be more specific, a chinese teacher - in thick glasses, long sleeves and all.
But no teachers dressed like that anymore!
Oh come on, do i not look like one?!

made the HB took a pic; and i thought i look pretty decent! The 2 tags - 1 for HB, 1 for MIL

No special plan was made as there are still tons of housework to do, not forgetting giving Lance a good wash before school starts tomorrow. The man had given moi a treat at our usual fish and co yesterday when we were at PP giving our mare a good chop off.
Did our monthly watson shopping and gotten yet another dress from isetan while waiting for the rain to stop.

final shot at fish and co before the mare is chopped for good; this allure dress was on such good offer i cant resist it for work!
LOL, both of us are spotting hair so short that we have a great time laughing at ourselves.
The poor man had to settled his own dinner last nite as i was attending a colleague's wedding, coincidentally at Furama Riverfront as well. The place where we had our banquet a year ago.
Nothing has change, well except my expanding hip and chubbier than ever face... Sigh.

what the muslim guests were having - didnt know thats how their dishes look like before this!
On a high note, the banquet ended early enough for me to pop home for a change out of the oh-so-uncomfortable-coz-im-getting-fat-d
While the man ate his late dinner, i sipped my yuanyang happily.

the man with his dinner at just about midnite; our never can turn it down yuanyang
So there, happy 1st year aniversary.
And thank you my love, for bearing with my nonsense most of the time.
Love u. Deep.
