.... the Breakie Alone On Xmas Eve

  • Dec. 26th, 2009 at 3:59 PM
Amazing
While the man works hard to fund his wife's hopeless craze for shopping,
the woman had her breakie at Coffeebean.
Shall not mention about the roach i found crawling beneath where i sat.
Coz it irks me.

Yawn, gotta hit the sack after this.
Still need to wake up early tomorrow.
Its going to be a long day.
Hope everything will goes well! (shall blog more on it in my private entry)
Anyway loots from today's shopping at JL besides the usual lingerie.
And they justify my spending (only spent $55) if not of the entrance tickets to Kitty Lab.

perfect way of spending the weekend away: braving Sitex and people watching with HB

Landed this morning in Woodlands, and Pop helped to sign for it.
So there, meet my #3.
I swear I am officially on bag-ban for the rest of my working days years.
Thanks to the ever-so-kind HB, i can finally bring my NDS and a paperback out again.
So here it is:
My 09 Red Maxi Flap in Caviar

The red is in a lovely shade of fuchsia!

Meet the recent enquired family of mine

In case you are grumbling (if u have one) and wondering (if ur thinking of getting one) how well a medium flap works, meet my black doubleflap lambskin i used for work these days:
Am not joking when i said i can even put in an apple for my daily 4.30pm snack.

.... the Trouble Of Being Unwell

Bliss
Means having super bland meals again and again for the last few days.
Seriously, i had enough of mui-fan;
the infamous food for a patient, and ready for anything spicy and comforting.
The man has been most kind to bring me out for some light breather.
Clogging at home just doesnt seem to work well for me.
I need sunshine, some running around...
And oh, please throw in some shopping if possible!

Dinner awhile ago was somewhere near his workplace; (totally not worth mentioning)
We were drawn in by their mini porridge steamboat, but ended up having their 'mala' steamboat instead.
Except that there were only 3 groups of diners within the restaurant, and we were 'hinted' to leave at 9.30pm despite a staff telling me that the last order was at 10pm.
Food is so-so, service is not any fab either.
Even the man thinks the place will not last till our next visit, that is if we have absolutely nothing else to pick from.

the place is steamily deserted

Somehow we were spotting the identical shades of browns and reddish lips

Its no secret i adore my man.
He knows my reluctance to go home and face my TMA.
And so had suggested having a quick stroll around the practically deserted China Square, with me drooling over the double flaps outside a tiny second-hand bag store. (Nobody is open for business on weekends here!)
The nite was rounded up with a car spin down geylang (when we could just headed for Nicole Highway for a quicker route home) and now i am getting ready to just input alittle for my TMA due on tuesday.

Late photos uploaded:

moi with the whatever they sticked on me while i did ECG; the get-well hamper from my school

So in the midst of nursing back my health, i shall strive to do well for my final TMA.
Thanks to all who facebooked and msned me, non ti preoccupare, mi andrà bene. :)

Napping away. Despite being a Friday and i should be at work.
Had been experiencing this chest pain since last sunday.
The silly me had simply brushed it aside thinking it would just go away.
But i was so wrong.
It got so bad i could hardly breathe, and i started feeling dizzy when teaching in class.
I began to feel all nervous, coz somehow the left chest looked slightly swollen as well...
The HB drove us to SGH (back so soon) after work.
The whole procedure had taken us the entire evening and its already close to 11pm when we finally had horfun from the coffeeshop near our place.
Thankfully the waiting time was slightly shorter as compared to the time HB was there.
But the temp staff demanded for my work permit when the previous staff failed to write down that i had only my driving license with me. (I lost my identity card once and had paid an expensive lesson, never am i bringing it out unless i really have to)
I was so mad when she didnt seem to understand me  (i was REALLY in pain) that i blurted out nastily whether she needed me to go home to collect my IC, when one is dying...
After X ray, ECG, blood test and waiting for the result, the Doc (with this lovely English accent) assured me its just muscle inflection that affects the respiratory system. He saw how nervous we were and kept assuring us that i will be okie. Phew.
Am scheduled to visit the Respiratory Department 2 weeks later, and meanwhile, no work for the next 5 days.
I missed receiving the flowers HB sent to school today. Its our 3rd ROM anniversary. Thank God for colleagues who called and volunteer to water them.
Happy Anniversary to me... and the flu bug who arrives this morning...

Supposingly!
But weather was bad. And there is no sign of the celestial body.
Seriously, i have looked everywhere.
Anywho, something to share:
I was woken up by my bio-clock early this morning, thinking its a working day.
Gosh, had even hit the man hard on his chest, telling him we were late for work, till he grumbled loudly "yeah right, its Saturday and ur late for work."
Oops, it must be the stress coming from the recent work. (totally embarrassed)

#PX-6 eyelashes + Heidi Klum glitter eyeliner from victoria secret

Saturday lunchie was at Kim Gary Vivocity. Its our first visit and food is tasty enough.
Now, if only their yuan yang is thicker and creamier...
Had also wanted to grab some last minute mooncakes for the folks. But whats left were either the very expensive or the not-so-well-known brands...
The HB ended up shopping at montagut and left 30 mins later a happy man with 4 brand new shirts for work :)

My hot and spicy noodle is perfect on a rainy afternoon; while the man seeks comfort in the chicken chop

Headed for the nearby Keppel Bay for some 'couple-time' at TCC as vivo was overly populated with kids running around.
The man cant stands crowds too well.

do excuse the coffee stain; his coffee and mine

the man was getting bored due to the rain; the orangery lighting is no good for photo taking

stayed till 7pm before heading back to MIL's for dinner and more mooncakes

Except that the 2nd forum discussion is due on this coming tues. Booboo!
Didnt do exactly well for the first one. At least i think so!
While one's complies to the 100 words requirement, i wonder why are the others writing paragraphs after paragraphs? Anyway, im still sticking to the word restriction.
Rather to play safe. I guess. Its my final lap, jokes aside please.
Alright, back to the lighthearted side!

signed off note that makes me tingle all inside;
the concerts and everything else had finally ended with a good punch!

and i told u i deserve a pedicure treat, OPI in a lovely shade of metallic "Copper Mountain Copper"
Manage to also purchase the foot cream i swear by for the longest time but has since gone missing for awhile.
I have their callus remover for at least the past 5 years. They have really good foot products.

My wedding band is back! Customized and totally shiny! Yippee!
They even showed me my previous ring to prove the one im getting is brand new.

had dinner at this Jia Xiang Kuching Restaurant while waiting for Jason to come back from his.
The food is acceptably yummy, but a tad too pricy for my liking since this had cost the man $30++.

spot my new toy? Its a gift from HB!

stopped by watson after that as i have been itching to try the bubble mask from follow me. Its 1/4 of what i paid for my previous oxymask.
And also do give these tiny weeny japanese cookies a try if u happen to see them. Its really good and only $1.95 each!

.... the Eventful Weekend

  • Sep. 23rd, 2009 at 12:25 AM
At Peace
And i had my plans all mapped out:
1) Net surf my life away on Friday nite
2) Mark / Eat / Shop on Saturday
3) BBQ with HB's colleagues on Sunday
4) Post my assignment entries on the discussion forum on Monday
I guess plans are never meant to be followed. We ate pretty late on Sat and i did no marking at all the entire long weekend.
The BBQ was cut short when the HB got this pain near his tummy and back. It was so painful i had to rush the man to the SGH in the middle of the nite. My poor baby... He was in such pain, but still insisted on coming back to shower before heading to the hospital. Yeah right, we smelled wonderfully of chicken wings and satays.
It was really 'early' in the morning when we came home. After the doc injected him with morphine and kept him under observation for another 2 hours. Well, thank god he is okie now. (phew!)
Its been a tough period for the family really. Honestly i can really count with my hand the numbers of time i had visited SGH's A&E this year; and its barely Oct. These days, i get really edgy when my cellphone rings. Please take good care of yourself peeps!

Beautiful

simply because one is too tired and getting all 'yawny'.
Yawnz.
Nite peeps.
Will update again maybe over the weekend.
I need my beauty sleep.
Desperately. Period.

was over at the comex over the weekend with the HB and co as we needed another DVD player. The previous one had retired for good a couple of months back, and i was so deprived from my "i-cant-sleep-because-its-monday-tomorrow" dvd marathon every sunday.
Had dropped by Sakae Sushi with the rest for lunch after that. (see what i mean, i can eat there practically every few weeks or so.) boring

the man had been having this real serious case of craving for korean bbq for the looongest time. And so when MIL wasnt cooking dinner on Monday nite, the two happy campers rushed home after work, changed into our oldest tees and headed for the nearby Jang Shou Korean BBQ. Im not kidding when i say their marinated lamb steak is oh-so-yummy, even the man who is never a fan ate 3. The place is cozily comfortable, frequent mostly by the Koreans. And the bottles they served their ice water reminds me so much of the days when we were in korea.
Its a must try, if u are okay with the 'bbq' scent empowering u. well, i get pass it, simply because they serve wicked shiitake mushrooms for grilling! grin.

isnt this a doll? the HB got me the cupcake from crystal jade the other evening. simply yumz

was out since 7am this morning for oral made-up, went back school for 3 periods of lessons before leaving for my course in the afternoon. gee, the whole day was spent basically doing everything besides teaching. lol. the course ended thankfully before 5pm and i managed to squeeze in sometimes to window shop alittle at AMK hub.

and oh, its the dainty wife in action this time. moi bought back dinner for the man from amk tonite: Japanese bento, spring chicken, curry puffs, all washed down with orange juice. At the rate im going, i dun think i can fit into this newly acquired tunic from some store i cant rem.

shall end the entry with the happy campers; moi with my newly cut hair and the man along the F1 rally street tonite.

14 Days in Spain or 12 Days in Eastern Europe?
Hmmm, as much as i really adores Yancci And Loewe (well who dun? I mean their nappa are so buttery!), i thought Czech and Poland are equally attractive.
Poo, so many options, so little $$$, im officially lost.

Or maybe i should just settle for good old LA.
Its time to give the guys a visit at the city of angels anyway.
And oh, no monograms of any sort this time round.
(Not even coach i promise the HB, even if they need to drag my body to the Primm)
Its purely a final trip before we embark on our Plan B in secret.

.... the Promise Made To Be Broken

  • Aug. 28th, 2009 at 12:09 AM
Questionable
And im still burping non stop to my lappy screen while typing hard on the keyboard to finish up this entry.

Burrrp... excuse me.

Received SA Jason's call early in the morning to explain his plan for us to pick up the wedding band design from Suntec instead. He is such a sweetie to explain that his shop doesnt carry all the available designs and that we would have a wider selection to pick from at their flag store.
And so after cups of fruit tea, we finally decided on HB's current design, custom made to a smaller size of coz.
While walking back to meet Jason, the HB got busy analyzing the pros of picking one with a stone instead.
At least, we do not need to crack our brain (and our pocket) to get another pc of celestial jewellery using the pathetic outstanding amount from my current band.
Also, the HB knows his 'stone crazy' wife can never say no to add another bling bling to her collection.
Oh well, so its back to square one.
They will custom cast another similar wedding band, with a new 0.1 caret D colour VVS embedded within.
Alas, i didnt mean to break this promise of mine.
But to make it easier for both parties, this is the best choice!

We had dinner at Inle Myanmar with Don after that. The food is definitely worth visiting again so soon.

Bill added up to slightly less than $50 with the UOB 1 dines free for every 2 dinner sets order; Myanmar food is really good!

The HB was so sick that he was ordered to stay home for a couple of days by Doc Chong.
It seems like the flu bug is hitting us real hard.
Even my own temperature hits a high of 37.8C for the past 2 days as well and i have been popping the flu medicine, praying it will just subside slightly.
Hey, im not being social irresponsible. Its just that there are 3 events on hand that i need to plan; The coming Teacher's day, Children's day and the end of the year D&D. Gosh, am i soon a qualify event organizer!?

Anyway, back to the surprises.
While the man was still snoring hard this morning, i was up and ready for a brand new day at 7.30am. To be honest, half of me just wanted to visit the doc and take a day or two of rest. But i cant. There are simply too many things that requires immediate attention, aka by today. Was still in my 'half sleeping mode' when this woke me up, immediately!

the tiny diamond from my wedding band was missing! And so we sent both bands for a re-polish at the same time

It must had came off when i dropped it on the floor accidentally last nite. Was so dizzy from the flu medication that i couldnt even placed my ring properly on the dresser before showering.
As much as i should wake the HB up, i didnt. Cant bear to disturb his well-deserving sleep.
And oh by the way, laying practically flat on the floor trying to locate the wee stone was no fun. I even ended up 10 mins late for the morning meeting.

And so when i told the man about the ring in the evening, he said we should go repair it immediately. He needed to replace the broken car key anyway. All the 'bling bling' showcase in goldheart marina square are making me all excited. Though the man said i could pick just one as a gift for the coming anniversary, and as much as i was oh-so-tempted with one particular solitaire marked down by 40%, im so proud i didnt. Coz its high time we start saving up for our 'Plan B'. (grin)

I had been wondering why was the man grinning to himself non stop the entire night. Till i found this in the storeroom when he told me there was a surprise waiting inside.

he got me this! Look how gorgeous the thumb drive is! Apparently the postman woke the man up this morning when she sent up my 2 dresses from ebay UK

the 2 frocks at only 5 pounds each, but somewhat a little too big; HB got me an extra data cable as well; meet my LG family

Its been such a happy day. If you dun remind me of the lesson plan i need to submit for next week observation, and TMA02 is due next tuesday.

while having dinner at xinwang

Shall end the entry with this!

so cute right? i almost couldnt bear to eat it!

Much as so many unpleasant things are happening all within the weeks.
Something out there still managed to make me smile.
Like a little gal.
Who gets to pick her fav sweets at the Candy Bar.
That i am so loved by the people around me.

a colleague came back from shanghai with this; the HB was twiddling with the new cellphone and decided to custom made the wife a wallpaper

spent $12 ebaying these eye saver and the adorable name card holder i have been itching for since i saw them in Seoul a few years ago

On that fateful morning last week, we were so trapped in the house when the door knob got permanently stucked for good. The HB had no choice but to remove the entire knob to release me in time for the 10.30am meeting.

the door with the missing knob VS the view from the inside

The cousins didnt get to eat (sleep) much for the past few days. So on the eve of the final service, the HB drove some of us to the nearby hong kong cafe for dinner / supper.

may the force of the cousin - fellowship continues; meet my love, my pillar, my soul mate

The last 5 days were tough to handle. But it was made easier as all of us stick it out for one another. Now that it is finally over. Its time to hit back to reality. Gran, may u rest in peace...

Hungry
Mr How and I were out dating the entire weekend.
Which means more food. that is.
The only form of exercise we got was while we waiting in line and later dashing in to grab the best seats to watch the Transformer.
We shouldnt had lunch at this lovely Thai restaurant as food reception was served before the movie was screened. There was simply nowhere else to squeeze in the yummy chocolate eclairs after that.

But Thai Accent served yummy food and fab service!

Sunday: The HB needed a haircut before going for his reservist. We had ramen at PP as the man has been having the craving for the loooooongest time. He kept grumbling about the lack of it, but seriously, i will prefer pasta and "ban mian" anytime more than this.

On the side note, we were pretty hooked to this on weekend these days:

Stubborn

The short trip in June turns out to be 5 days in Hong Kong! Dancing around like a mad woman.
I love HK for the food, the shopping and the food. Did i already mention food?
Maybe u know, maybe u dun.
Hong Kong holds a very important place in our hearts for its the first place we travel to as a couple.
Something like when i was 21 and he was 23; when disneyland has yet to set her feet on the land.
Now isnt that sweet? laugh

This will be my 5th trip to hk, (if im going that is.) And i was so looking forward to the trip till the swine flu attacks.
I was in HK with Chuz when SARS broke out years ago, and we were thankful we were safe, especially when the particular hotel is just around the corner from where we were staying.

The HB has a friend who has this small rental apartment in Kowloon and i was looking forward to staying in a real HK apartment. Not that Royal Pacific isnt terrific. (Grand Tower was our all time fav till it creased operation and RP became our top pick.)
Annnd, we wont be spending tons as we are thinking of flying with Jetstar instead of the usual Cathay.
Oh come on, it will be SUCH an experience; flying budget, staying at a local apartment, you know the works?
With the economy downturn, this will be the perfect time. So logically this will be a really no frills trip!

Poo, or maybe i should just change my cell phone.

Express Myself

A couple of things happened this week, and i honestly think i deserve to be shot for putting both my feet in the mouth. Imagine repeating this terribly bad habit not once, twice, but a holy sh** three times in a single day? God.Please.Forgive.This.Big.Mouth.Of.Mine.

By the way, the final exam is in another 2 weeks time and im currently in the midst of preparing myself mentally for it. Seriously, i have no idea how i am going to do it, but I AM GOING TO PASS the paper!
You know something, that silly mummy of mine got really worried when i told her how i regretted taking this module the other day while we were having breakie together.
So much so that pa called and told me not to get all stress out, and that i can always retake another one.
(In case you are getting all confused, just like i was) Apparently, ma had told him that moi has to repeat the module and can only graduate end of this year.
Excuse me, i havent even take the paper loh. Choy choy choy! (split non stop!)
Thats my mum by the way :D

On Monday (20th April)

Besides the usual daily lesson plans from my trainee, i came back on the first day of work with this on my workstation.
Thanks Shirley!
The Hb and i polished everything with the banana HL milk that nite.

On Tuesday (21st April)
We finally get down to buying the tics to CATS. Thanks to Ade who has given me the idea on how to spend my LDS fund. Since im only allow to claim for my own, i will need to drop by personally to their authorised agents. Had been pushing the chore away for the past few weeks. Till i realized the show is ending on 3rd May.
As MIL was not cooking on Tuesday, the HB and i dropped by PP for dinner and to book the tickets.
The VIP seats i have been eying through their online booking were unfortunately sold out when we arrived.
So serve me right, the man said. (booboo)

And so we will be catching the musical on the 2nd May

On Thursday (23rd April)
The mouth shot big time the entire day. I just wish a hole can open up and shallow the whole of me.
Im terribly sorry for what i had said, and i dun mean to cause any trouble. To anyone. Really.
That nite, the HB and i bought so many food back for dinner, we were stuffed turkey.

Old Airport Road's famous chay kuay tiao; the marinara spaghetti is yummy!

we shared the japanese curry rice and 6 chicken wings

downed with this and my fav grape fruit

We ate pretty too much as usual, and had a hard time catching our winks that nite.

This weekend agenda is going to be real simple, i need to look around for a new fridge for the staff lounge as the current one is no longer working.
Well thats it, and i will try my best to curb the spending mood to buy stuffs which i dun really need.

We watched The House Bunny and Wild Child in bed last nite.
Somehow i can relate better to the latter coz it remind me so much of my own teenage years.

And absolutely no need for therapy of any sort to make myself feel better.

Stubborn

With mum happily shopping in hat yai ( yes, thats how near she is in Thailand), i have nowhere to go this morning. I usually dropped by mum's for breakie after leaving Lance in school on Mondays and Fridays since classes do not start so early on these two days. I was playing with the idea of collecting my PM member figurine and maybe just hanged around CWP for awhile before going back to school. But it was too early when i reached. Nowhere was opened for business yet. So, its the national library to kill sometime while waiting for precious thots to open at 11am.
As much as i always complaint about my lack of time, i decided to pay my fine so that i could borrow some books for those 'lonely' nites when the HB played his PSP and ignored me.

Besides, its been sometimes since i visited the library and Fern Michaels used to be one of my fav writer. So, why not?

Its still early when i left the library. As much as Metro was already opened for business and there were absolutely nobody in the fitting rooms, i decided to curb the spending mood and just window shopped for awhile. Was pretty impressed with my self-control power till i stepped into Precious Thots.

this year member figurine is an absolute doll! And i bought the cute little policeman for HB ( You Serve And Protect #820009)

Had jessie reserved one of this for me -  as a remembrance of our honeymoon when we were at the fountain of trevi in italy
(Love is the fountain of life #830017, its limited to only 5000 pcs worldwide, and they managed to dig out #1980; the year im born!)

Speaking of the PM figurines, Pop was saying the other day that the collection is hiking up.
I know, i know, and im restricting myself to only a few figurines every year now.
To sidetrack alittle, i was surfing the website that day and came across these few; which are beyond fab. But im not buying them lah, (coz they are not released yet in SIN) so dun worry Pop!

our love is the bridge to happiness; hands build a house, loves builds a home

love is always in bloom; you capture my heart

the magic of friendship shines through; the perfect catch

Anyway, the HB msged me in the afternoon that MIL was not cooking. He had suggested dropping by fortune centre to check out the DS Lite.
Yes, thats right! After much 'nagging', the man has gave in and is getting me the DS Lite! As much as he still thinks i have no time for this new toy, he had thought he should reward me for being the dainty wife.
So there, my new toy. I had picked black instead of the usual pink or white for fuss free maintenance. And im too busy playing with it right now to dress her up yet.

the total damage for HB's pocket is $235; its a good deal honestly!

It gotta be the best day of my life so far. Had came home totally smiling from ear to ear hugging the package. Finally, a gadget toy of my own. I can listen to songs with it (wait till i figure it out), play any games out of the 84, and surf the net even. (wow, wee.)
Bought home the usual zichar hor fun, fried mee hoon and a giant sausage from a newly opened western food stall. I have still prefer the ones from IKEA with tons of mustard.
Drowned everything with 2 cans of tiger beers, coz all these deserve a celebration!
And did i mentioned the stuffs i bought from ebay came today as well?
Oh well, there are so many things to do, but so little time!

a vintage floral dress that fits me to a tee; an ultra cute denim jumper dress from cotton on; the Elf blusher i have read so much about!

Thats all for now folks! Its time to play with my new toy!
