.... the Breakie Alone On Xmas Eve

  • Dec. 26th, 2009 at 3:59 PM
Amazing
While the man works hard to fund his wife's hopeless craze for shopping,
the woman had her breakie at Coffeebean.
Shall not mention about the roach i found crawling beneath where i sat.
Coz it irks me.

hanging out with Cecelia Ahern can be so cool

The chef in me decided to make xmas dinner this year.
Armed with whatever i can remember from reading Prisc's, i made risotto, with help from HB's of coz!
We started at 5pm but the supposedly 40min of preparation and cooking took us 2 hours instead.
But it was an experience we will hardly forget.
And the man thinks its seriously yummy. He wanted a second round this 31st actually.
But no, coz the fingers smell awfully terrible now.

So while waiting for tonite's xmas pizza (and mahjong later!) with his folks,
let me just showoff alittle what we whipped out last nite.

Youth
For its Xmas Day today!
Happy Xmas peeps! And a merry new year ahead.
Anyway, its been a terribly eventful year for moi.
Sure hope everything will be sailing alot more smoothly next year.
And its high time the wish list to be updated.
Had promise my folks i shall buy lesser and save more. (And eat lesser, this i promise myself)

And so, we went prawning the third time last tues after the dentist appointment and watching AVATAR on 3D.
The adventurous man wanted to try a new prawning spot.
We headed to the one in Bishan park.
My my my, they even have a fish spa, i have been wanting to try that since eons.

while the boys tried bbqing the prawn the first time

moi posed with the final result; dinner that nite

Met Chuz like finally the next evening at Tampines 1.
The place was packed with people, but no decent place for dinner.
Made a bad choice when i picked F.I.S.H to meet the gal. Food was lousy, hardly comparable with their sister company's fish and co.
Well maybe because we picked beef and lamp instead of fish... (roll my eyes)
But at least the staff were attentive enough.
Food: 2 out of 5, inhouse service: i will give a 4 out of 5.

while waiting for the gal, i was thirsty; the birthday gal in another couple of day

lamb chop vs beef steak

my xmas pressie this year; i cant get enough of the pink glitter stones; friends for eleven years and counting

I wish i can capture a nicer pic of this blue kitty she got me as last year xmas pressie.
(but i only got it this year!)
Tthats how many donkeys we had not met!
So soft, so comfy!

Merry Xmas Gal, and friends forever!

Bliss
That i have finally completed my double degree.
Though academic grades comprising of mostly Bs and Cs arent anything to hooha about :P
Last friday had been amazing.
We hit town right after i gotten my grades via SMS.
So high tech right?
And the worried me did a double check via the student portal as well, just to reconfirm.
Its too good to be true honestly. Consider i didnt really work very hard for the papers...

xmas pressie comes early this year!

lunch treat from HB at illuma; food and service were really so-so, but we were in too good a mood to pick on that!

loots from Isetan Private Sale and new look suntec; im in a total blue mood that day!

Dress: Denim Tunic with rosette pockets from Wrap
Accessory: 09 red Chanel maxi jumbo caviar
     Crocs from Hong Kong

See? Mum, i didnt buy any Chanel or monograms today!

.... the Nite I Shall Blog Early

  • Dec. 13th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
Blessed
Why? Coz Don's previous pictures reflected me with my super dark eye circles!
No more going to bed late; surfing the moon away on VS, Shopbop, ebay...
I need my beauty sleep, period.
Else no amount of eye cream is going to save me.
Oh God. Thats how nasty school hols are for me.
I can just spend the whole day shopping online, checking out the latest bag collection, and basically doing netbish...
U cant blame me! With the super attractive USD rate, even pop likes ebay...

Anyway lets make this a quick one.
Were at Ikea last evening ( woke up too late for breakie.)
Didnt manage to get the sofa bed coz the man kept complaining abt the lack of space in the study room.
We got a Poang instead.
Psst... Im so proud of HB, he assembled it all by himself.
And so to reward him, we got 2 detolf for his SOC's collection...

relaxing... but excuse me, its for me
We dropped by PP after that as i need to get the pressie for gift exchanging with the yaya sisters.
No date is fixed yet. But its never too early! (Hint huh!)
Dinner was at New York New York.
The meat platter was ahem... but mud pie and service is to die for!
Go if ur a sucker for fab attention from the staff, even on a crowded weekend nite!
Both thumb up!

its my second visit, and the place never fails to bring back memories of LA...

2 quick hairdo all within a min; the first one looks awfully oily under the spot light

the man with all the ribs he could stomach; TDF mud pie

And now im complaining about the yellowish picture taken using HB's Ominia II. I look horribly nerdy...
Top: Turtleneck from Ralph Lauren (coz i had rashes all over my neck)
Skirt: Marc Jacob (i heart all his stuff now!)
Accessory: White Chanel 2.55 Cavier

No makeup = seedy eyes *pout*

Spent the whole evening over at Stella's.
Its been awhile since we dropped by.
Dinner was yummy homemade seafood spaghetti and MIL's curry chicken.
How i wish i can stomach them all, but with pizza still in the tummy doing their works, i ate like an rabbit.

Anyway, its Ikea tomorrow morning!
Oh right! Time to do some furniture shopping! Woohoo~
Hint:
Dear, how about a sofa bed in the study room? i can just lie and net surf the day away.
Make that a Xmas pressie for the house. Can?

as the sunset shines on me, i realise i need to do something to my hair

The rest of the pics were taken with Don's D90.

btw, what is wrong with the man?

So much so that i have almost forgotten the taste of them. Really.
And so, we home delivered 62353535.
Munching on pizzas, and catching the sea game swimming final on telly.
Bliss!

Blessed
Its the time of the year i stock up with VS.
Had almost hit the payment button (for all the oh-so-comfy bra tops in yummy colors) when HB nudged me for his doc appointment.
Am not kidding u when i manage to locate some at cheaper prices when we decided to pop by 313 somerset after that.
(yes! we went public again today!)

Lets all chant Uniqlo together!
The place was in a mess, i wish i can spend as much!
But the recent trip to town had blown a huge hole in the man's pocket.
Im happy with just basic tees my wardrobe is desperately in need of.
I should have taken a couple of pic for today, but the weather was so hot, i just want to dash into any aircon mall. (pout!)

Anywho, i say taking the train is so so easy!
It only took us slightly less than 30 minutes to reach home, catch a tiny nap and were still in time for dinner with the folks! Now, im planning where to go (with my ezilink topped up, no less!) for the rest of the hols!

i honestly like this duck rice from SGH

thats how fab uniqlo's service is, they bother to tape up the tag for all their customers; shades of the ocean and i found a tiffany blue!

closeup of the leggings i swear by even before the brand hits our island!

Us wanted to get the macbook (officially known as the Apple Pie) a pad of her own.
HB was joking that we should have gotten the monogram series when we were in town the other day.
Can u imagine my disappointment when the entire PP was combed and there was no sign of a decent one, let alone a good mice?
As much as the Razor in pink looks ever so tempting, i say i can think of at least 1000 better ways of spending my $89.
Went home totally in a foul mood, empty handed and a growling tummy.
Dinner was alittle too light.
Gimme the seaweed french fries from Mcdonald anytime! I dun care about the FAT issue anymore!

Now that everything is fine.
Its time to enjoy the well deserved break!
Despite the heavy downpour and everything wet and cheerless, we headed for town.
Its time to do the Xmas shopping anyway.
And what better time than now? Really.
Perfect for its a rainy weekday and HB honestly need to visit the tailor desperately for new working wear!

Speaking of food, we had ramen the same day we decided to spring the surprise on Pop.
The weather doesnt allow for anything else besides some soupy hot noodles, i tell you.
And so, its ajisen instead of the usual thai and jap when we were shopping for early Xmas pressies.
its been ages since i have them, and they are way better than what i rem! Must try!

HB's tontoro ramen

my tomyan ramen

and we shared the fried cuttlefish and fried tofu
Pretty good deal with UOB credit card, servings are just right for "lunnier", and we managed to redeem this year Sesame street umbrella and calender after that.
Woke up bright and early on Sat morn as Pucci was due for his grooming session at Vivo city.
Pucci getting all edgy; and we saw this cute little bunny as well

the lonely old man vs the happy chap when he came home

We had breakie at white dog cafe while pucci was being groomed. Its our first time and we will definitely be back!
Superb services from their staff, and food are all yummily sinful!

cream of chicken with an extra order of the button mushrooms, they are huge!

our lunch value set are all worth the money, will definitely come again, have i already said that earlier?

and i just need to have this when i saw it! So oriental!
That nite, the 3 of us took a short walk across the lorongs wanting to check out the new prawn fishing farm (the former Singapore badminton hall) At $30 per rod, we went home with 12 prawns 3 hours later.
Not too bad for first timers like us!

we will be back soon, the HB gets the kick out of it, he wants to go again!

supper after prawn fishing at ho kee, we were super hungry, burp!

Just refuse to blog.
The long weekend has been packed with all sort of activities you can think of.
Movie, catching up with the folks, prawning (yes, prawning, had never tried that before!), shopping, trying out new dining places...
Didnt even sleep late these days, wanting to head out as soon as we can!
And we have enjoy ourselves really really much. (Except for the disappointment with Kitty Lab.)
Hey Jac, i did popped by expo today bright and early armed with my cam, but the ticketing officer still said no to photo taking inside...
Tragedy isnt it? And so manage to console myself with more shopping at JL.
The man didnt even grumble one bit!
He will rather have me shopping for clothes! And he promise the trip to Puroland soon!

I was hopping around like a mad old lady on Thursday. Coz, it was officially the last day of school.
No more waking up at 7am to reach school at 8am. And our school newsletter team wins ourselves the OCA this year! Hooray!
Was helping Nura with her spring-cleaning of her workstation when some of the colleagues started singing her the birthday song.
Goodness me! I wasnt even aware its her 29th birthday. Was so guilty that i had asked my RO for timeoff to head out so as to get the gal a tiny cake. The rest of the day was spent catching up with the gals, no more spring-cleaning. Oops.
The birthday gal; taking pictures with some of the skinniest people around is really no fun!

That nite, instead of catching up on the beauty sleep, (check out my panda eyes!), i had made HB drove us to GV Grand.
New Moon New Moon New Moon! The movie is anything i expected, (boring, that is coz the book itself is the least fav of my installments) but both of us have a great time popping popcorn and checking out Jacob, my all time fav character! And i do appreciate the fact that the movie follows the book really closely. Now i cant wait for 'eclipse' to be release on the 30th June 2010, at least i dun have to wait for another year!

Mom needed to work OT on Haji and so HB and i decided to spring a surprise on pop when we dropped by in the evening with Yoshinoya takeaway and his fav durian puffs
And this is when the Dare comes in; that is IF i am able to catch Philip's chinchilla and pass it to HB, he will get me the Chanel cambon im eying on for the loooongest time. And so!
as the saying goes: never dare a woman; especially when its for something she wants...

And oh, we bought a new figurine for the coming Xmas from Jessie as well.
our love makes a lasting impression #910065 number 1816 out of 5000

Part 2 coming up next, before the sleepy bugs kick in!

Youth
coz today's session ended early as well.
Thank u very much Mdm!
The 3 Ss headed for the nearby Northpoint, finally settled on Bakerzin when starbucks is way too crowded for gossip session.
Had enjoyed the company so much i almost forgot about the man! LOL.
Only reaching havelock at 7.30pm!

their tea time special is so attractive we had a tough time choosing The cake

shirley's gracious wish (flourless cake) and latte

siew beng's foret noir (i like this the best!) and rose tea

am not very sure whats mine called (one of the festive cakes though), tea is lemon blush, very niceeeee!

Totally enjoy this tea session with the gals, a pity Nah couldnt join us!
And i even met Jessie! How coincidence!
I mean i just visited her yesterday at precious thots making order for some PM figurines, and today we met again in the cafe! Yup, thats me. I am usually friends with SAs who give thumb up services!

Some random pic to end the nite!

spotted this mushroom beside Lace this morning when i was on my way to school; the little men from the Retreat, so Xmassy!

i have no idea what went wrong, i look super bland today.
Colourless, lifeless, and the fringe desperately needs trimming.
Missed doing my signature 'bird nest' aka 'amy winehouse' hair style coz i misplaced the haircraw.
It must be the pre monday blues...
And moi totally dread reporting to OCC tomorrow morning at 7.30am...

Pictures with the folks awhile ago at fortunate restaurant toa payoh.
Food shoots and its sooo expensive!
Only the durian fritters are passable (no photo though as we ate them before realising)
The teochew fried rice will have pass the mark, if only its not so pricy!

I love Muji.
Love them. Love Them. love them.

They have so many stuff i swear by.
And who can say no to their eyelash curler?!
Though i was super tired from work, we were at Marina Sq this afternoon, soaking in the coming Xmas spirit.
Popped in their outlet to grab some sweet for the colleagues who volunteered their help that the other day.
"Lunner" was at Cafe Cartel. Super yummy, or is it because its a beautiful day? Hmmm....

ELF eyeshadow cream in Oliver, sheer enough for daily look

the poor man was so hungry with no food the entire morning while i reported back for work

and the SA was so sweet to pack all my goodies in this santa looking eco bag!

im so addicted to their xmas city line, and this london hanky will come in handy the time we visit London again!

To rock the world after suffering from one week of blogging itch. LOL.
Exam is over, been there, done it.
Arent going to cry buckets for mistaking this particular female SIN poet as a Malaysia poet.
Duh... Just leme clear this!

even wore my fav jumper for extra luck
Before i could even mop over the stupidness / carelessness, its back to work.
Reception team, annual dinner and dance.
Woh, all within a day, u say it again.
Seriously. But its fun.
And terribly satisfying now that everything has ended beautifully.
The HB took me to Melting Pot for dinner on Thursday nite. To size up the car park, the man said.
But secretly, i think he just wanted us to have a post exam dinner celebration, Heh heh

with the man i love so mwah

Food selection is really so so. No food pictures as we didnt eat much.
While the HB enjoyed his, i spent mine replying SMS to the hotel's operation manager.
Lovely guy, who even got me a front carpark lot when the topic of my lousy parking skill came out.
No joke. Im off big time in small diminutive underground carparks.

Anyway, frontal service is good at MPC, but the waitress served me the wrong tea instead of Earl Grey.
I must really look stress out! Hah!

Bright yellow Chamomile instead grey earl grey label? I have no idea whats in this cake, but the tangy burst are so unforgettable!

Had worked more than 14 hours on Friday. Wanted to catch some winky over at pop's before setting off for the hotel.
But the short afternoon was spent bitching with the folks. Grin, we are having dinner tomorrow nite, Philip's treat!

The whole group of us left the school at 4pm, reaching the place at perfect time.
Didnt park at the promised lot as the colleagues' cars were right behind.
Had went into the carpark crossing my toes secretly i wont injure Lace.
The gals who were with me gave me much confidence. I even managed to park on a "humpy" lot.
And when the manager called mentioning he had spotted my car at the underground car park, I am so proud of myself!

Thanks to colleagues who offered their extra help, everything was done and ready before 7pm.
(Photos coming up next!)

Million thanks to Oliver and Ivan of Holiday Inn Atrium, we managed to snag lovely grey table cloths that match this year's theme:
A Black and White Affair

while everybody were hard at work, thanks peeps! All 188 bottle done in the midst of laughter from 12 super nice people

And i won a $50 Isetan shopping voucher! More shopping!

.... the Week Has Been Really Amazing

  • Nov. 14th, 2009 at 1:16 AM
Beautiful
I got my pedicure done on Tuesday since its marking day and all of us worked from 8am to 4pm.
Had to have them done this week somehow, coz i will never have the luxury for that come next week. Am crossing my eyes that they will last till next Friday for the D&D.
Its exam first, follow by the prize giving and before i know it, the day is here.
Period.
Anywho, the pedicure session was well spent replying SMS to colleagues tying up the loose ends...
Imagine sending 45 SMS messages within the 1 hour and 15minutes? Pretty impressive i must say!

Bastille My Heart from OPI, i wish my toe nails are longer; anyway, did u spot something really depressing in the picture?

Visited Mustafa like finally this evening. Have never ever been there before in my last 29 years of life.
Today seems like a perfect time since the HB wanted some hot pipping food for dinner.
We decided on Seoul Garden and remembered vividly that there is an outlet at City Square Mall.

To sidetrack abit, the outlet is having 1 for 1 on weekdays besides Friday(though), so drop by for fab service.
At least i did! Attractive servers, charming waiter who topped up drinks so often i lose count...
Its been yorks since we visit the restaurant, i think the last time we ate there was like 5 years ago? I have no idea about the other outlets, but this one works pretty much like Sakae Sushi; click and the staffs will bring over your food. Their mixed berry and oreo vanilla with nata de coco ice cream are yummy. U should give it a try.

Oh right, back to the trip to Mustafa. The place is huge, and honestly, it isnt as bad as i thought.
I would have love to shop alittle longer if not of the rain.
(We took advantage of the free parking redemption at City Square and decided to walk there instead)
There are so many things to see and check out. I am so amaze by the way the cashiers keep the money in their drawer.
So retro, so unseen these days in SIN!

i could barely open my eyes after a week of tough work; the interior decor is so different from what the memory serves us

flushed after all the bbq-ing; there's a halo above my head

thanks to a blog friend, i found the shoes im super smitten to that actually flatters my ankles

1) On Food
2) On Shopping
3) On how a beautiful saturday should be spent
It can be so easy; when expectation is lowered

Devoted the whole morning with the last few chapters of "Mistress of the game" while the man was out busy making appointments for Lance.
Arent terribly impressed with the ending (well there isnt any, strictly saying) and what can u say when an amateur like me detected errors such as "Singaporian" and "thick, blond mop of old", when it should be "gold"?
Anywho, none that i can think of can really replace the great Sidney Sheldon. I say i will give it a 2.5 out of 5, really.

We had a simple dinner at Lerk Thai Marina Square this evening.
Im trying to keep to my resolution of blogging less on food since even the face seems rounder and fuller these days.
But i simply have to blog about this particular staff from L.T.
We have always enjoying dining at this particular Thai chain. Staffs are always attentive and polite, maybe its just how they treat one another back in their own country. The one who was leading us to our place was all lovely and pleasant. But i cant say the same to the one who took our order.
Upon hearing we are sharing our orders, he had asked rather loudly do we need extra plates for them.
Be it sensitive or whatever, i dun see the need for him to repeat the sentence "Do u need extra plates since you are sharing your food" at two occasions. (roll my eyes) I mean we already had an empty plate each.
Anyway maybe im too passive... Or i should have say yes to the request...

A older Caucasian couple came in asking for a window seat when its packed with diners. However none is available. Can u imagine the same staff walking to yet another couple and requested them to give out their window seats?!
The HB was saying that if a similar situation happens to us, he will have walk out of the place immediately. I guess the young couple is simply too kind hearted. If not of their lemon glass drink which resembles mum's, i will not bear with this either!

we didnt opt for a window seat, prefering having a cosy cushion corner; all time must order: Seafood papaya salad

we were sharing these, and its when the staff started to be rude

delicious bee hoon and 6 pcs tago

i look tired with no makeup on

Actually we were out xmas tree shopping. IKEA has some lovely live ones which will be really difficult to get rid of after the festive season. Had wanted to check out the ones in Carrefour, but they arent catching the man's attention. We ended up going home with no Xmas tree; but a new head gear for my coming D&D.

i hope this will look good for the event; posing with my newest love! Isnt she yummy?

Speaking of which, outfit for today was this long jersey dress i bought awhile but didnt have the chance to wear as yet. Because of this spidery coweb straps in front which totally spolit the look, i have them sewn together while the man was getting ready.

the before and after

am counting down to xmas!
