.... the Fingers Still Smell Of Onions

  • Dec. 25th, 2009 at 6:56 PM
Youth
The chef in me decided to make xmas dinner this year.
Armed with whatever i can remember from reading Prisc's, i made risotto, with help from HB's of coz!
We started at 5pm but the supposedly 40min of preparation and cooking took us 2 hours instead.
But it was an experience we will hardly forget.
And the man thinks its seriously yummy. He wanted a second round this 31st actually.
But no, coz the fingers smell awfully terrible now.

So while waiting for tonite's xmas pizza (and mahjong later!) with his folks,
let me just showoff alittle what we whipped out last nite.

.... the Pressie For Mum

  • Dec. 25th, 2009 at 6:11 PM
Deep in Thought
Merry Xmas Mum and I love u so.

Youth
For its Xmas Day today!
Happy Xmas peeps! And a merry new year ahead.
Anyway, its been a terribly eventful year for moi.
Sure hope everything will be sailing alot more smoothly next year.
And its high time the wish list to be updated.
Had promise my folks i shall buy lesser and save more. (And eat lesser, this i promise myself)

And so, we went prawning the third time last tues after the dentist appointment and watching AVATAR on 3D.
The adventurous man wanted to try a new prawning spot.
We headed to the one in Bishan park.
My my my, they even have a fish spa, i have been wanting to try that since eons.

while the boys tried bbqing the prawn the first time

moi posed with the final result; dinner that nite

Met Chuz like finally the next evening at Tampines 1.
The place was packed with people, but no decent place for dinner.
Made a bad choice when i picked F.I.S.H to meet the gal. Food was lousy, hardly comparable with their sister company's fish and co.
Well maybe because we picked beef and lamp instead of fish... (roll my eyes)
But at least the staff were attentive enough.
Food: 2 out of 5, inhouse service: i will give a 4 out of 5.

while waiting for the gal, i was thirsty; the birthday gal in another couple of day

lamb chop vs beef steak

my xmas pressie this year; i cant get enough of the pink glitter stones; friends for eleven years and counting

I wish i can capture a nicer pic of this blue kitty she got me as last year xmas pressie.
(but i only got it this year!)
Tthats how many donkeys we had not met!
So soft, so comfy!

Merry Xmas Gal, and friends forever!

.... the Second Time Prawning

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 1:08 AM
Questionable
And we did it in the afternoon.
I wonder whats the best time to prawn?
Coz it seems like we gotten more the first time we tried. And it was in the nite.
Went home with 24 prawns and $75 bucks poorer.
And the HB confesses his 'kick' for prawning.
Maybe i should just get him a prawning rod or something for xmas.
I would have save a few more molas. grin

i got bored and turned to my mag after prawning a couple; (did u notice i cut my hair? i swear it looks nicer than this most of the time)

Spent the whole evening over at Stella's.
Its been awhile since we dropped by.
Dinner was yummy homemade seafood spaghetti and MIL's curry chicken.
How i wish i can stomach them all, but with pizza still in the tummy doing their works, i ate like an rabbit.

Anyway, its Ikea tomorrow morning!
Oh right! Time to do some furniture shopping! Woohoo~
Hint:
Dear, how about a sofa bed in the study room? i can just lie and net surf the day away.
Make that a Xmas pressie for the house. Can?

as the sunset shines on me, i realise i need to do something to my hair

The rest of the pics were taken with Don's D90.

Speaking of food, we had ramen the same day we decided to spring the surprise on Pop.
The weather doesnt allow for anything else besides some soupy hot noodles, i tell you.
And so, its ajisen instead of the usual thai and jap when we were shopping for early Xmas pressies.
its been ages since i have them, and they are way better than what i rem! Must try!

HB's tontoro ramen

my tomyan ramen

and we shared the fried cuttlefish and fried tofu
Pretty good deal with UOB credit card, servings are just right for "lunnier", and we managed to redeem this year Sesame street umbrella and calender after that.
Woke up bright and early on Sat morn as Pucci was due for his grooming session at Vivo city.
Pucci getting all edgy; and we saw this cute little bunny as well

the lonely old man vs the happy chap when he came home

We had breakie at white dog cafe while pucci was being groomed. Its our first time and we will definitely be back!
Superb services from their staff, and food are all yummily sinful!

cream of chicken with an extra order of the button mushrooms, they are huge!

our lunch value set are all worth the money, will definitely come again, have i already said that earlier?

and i just need to have this when i saw it! So oriental!
That nite, the 3 of us took a short walk across the lorongs wanting to check out the new prawn fishing farm (the former Singapore badminton hall) At $30 per rod, we went home with 12 prawns 3 hours later.
Not too bad for first timers like us!

we will be back soon, the HB gets the kick out of it, he wants to go again!

supper after prawn fishing at ho kee, we were super hungry, burp!

.... the Lazy Me (Part 1)

At Peace
Just refuse to blog.
The long weekend has been packed with all sort of activities you can think of.
Movie, catching up with the folks, prawning (yes, prawning, had never tried that before!), shopping, trying out new dining places...
Didnt even sleep late these days, wanting to head out as soon as we can!
And we have enjoy ourselves really really much. (Except for the disappointment with Kitty Lab.)
Hey Jac, i did popped by expo today bright and early armed with my cam, but the ticketing officer still said no to photo taking inside...
Tragedy isnt it? And so manage to console myself with more shopping at JL.
The man didnt even grumble one bit!
He will rather have me shopping for clothes! And he promise the trip to Puroland soon!

I was hopping around like a mad old lady on Thursday. Coz, it was officially the last day of school.
No more waking up at 7am to reach school at 8am. And our school newsletter team wins ourselves the OCA this year! Hooray!
Was helping Nura with her spring-cleaning of her workstation when some of the colleagues started singing her the birthday song.
Goodness me! I wasnt even aware its her 29th birthday. Was so guilty that i had asked my RO for timeoff to head out so as to get the gal a tiny cake. The rest of the day was spent catching up with the gals, no more spring-cleaning. Oops.
The birthday gal; taking pictures with some of the skinniest people around is really no fun!

That nite, instead of catching up on the beauty sleep, (check out my panda eyes!), i had made HB drove us to GV Grand.
New Moon New Moon New Moon! The movie is anything i expected, (boring, that is coz the book itself is the least fav of my installments) but both of us have a great time popping popcorn and checking out Jacob, my all time fav character! And i do appreciate the fact that the movie follows the book really closely. Now i cant wait for 'eclipse' to be release on the 30th June 2010, at least i dun have to wait for another year!

Mom needed to work OT on Haji and so HB and i decided to spring a surprise on pop when we dropped by in the evening with Yoshinoya takeaway and his fav durian puffs
And this is when the Dare comes in; that is IF i am able to catch Philip's chinchilla and pass it to HB, he will get me the Chanel cambon im eying on for the loooongest time. And so!
as the saying goes: never dare a woman; especially when its for something she wants...

And oh, we bought a new figurine for the coming Xmas from Jessie as well.
our love makes a lasting impression #910065 number 1816 out of 5000

Part 2 coming up next, before the sleepy bugs kick in!

i have no idea what went wrong, i look super bland today.
Colourless, lifeless, and the fringe desperately needs trimming.
Missed doing my signature 'bird nest' aka 'amy winehouse' hair style coz i misplaced the haircraw.
It must be the pre monday blues...
And moi totally dread reporting to OCC tomorrow morning at 7.30am...

Pictures with the folks awhile ago at fortunate restaurant toa payoh.
Food shoots and its sooo expensive!
Only the durian fritters are passable (no photo though as we ate them before realising)
The teochew fried rice will have pass the mark, if only its not so pricy!

HB's skill vs the wobbly shot from the waitress

6 freaking hours more before work starts, bravo...

.... the Poor Doggie

  • Oct. 26th, 2009 at 11:59 PM
Stubborn
Pucci is sick. The Poor dog.
We were watching the telly last nite when he started rolling and trembling on the floor for a couple of seconds.
The FIL was so worried that he had held him tight immediately, with Pucci cuddling the owner like a kola bear, while shivering.
But he seem okie after awhile and even response to 'kaikai' with a cheerful tail wave.
We had thought he was alright and was perhaps having a nitemare or something.

I wasnt aware that he was running a fever today.
While i was bitching with the gals over dinner at AMK hub, the poor dog was sent to Mount Pleasant by the folks for blood test and everything. I should have come home straight after work, sensing the difference in HB's SMSes.
He kept telling me Pucci is okie, when he is seriously not. Im so angry with myself now.
Im not ready to face anymore loss, Dio, ti prego benedica tutti i miei più amore.

Pucci Baby, get well soon k?

.... the Saturday Has Ended

  • Oct. 24th, 2009 at 9:11 PM
New Me
Rather young i must say.
Coz we were up early, visiting the Bugis temple with the inlaws, rounded up with one of the most delicious Thai food we ever had at some coffee shop nearby. U tell me, pineapple rice for 4 person priced at $5, along with 3 other side dishes, the father inlaw paid only $18 for everything.
I ate enough, swear to begin the diet plan from today onwards. (am sharing the takeaway subway with the HB for dinner in awhile; to disgress alittle, i think of London whenever we eat subway.)

After dropping the folks home, we set off for  City Square Mall, located 15 minutes away from where we stay. Nothing really fab since most of the shops arent exactly open for business yet, except for the many eating places and my all time fav Metro. (we even shook hand with Mr Batman. Didnt take any picture though despite the SA wanting us to as the man prefers the Astro boy. But honestly between you and me, i kinda like Batman the most among the rest of the super heroes. Simply coz he is the richest, hah hah!)

Anywho, we bought the MIL 2 tees, and i managed to snag home a black chiffon top and another tier dress which will be so perfect for the new week. And oh, if ur a fan of kose white mask, do go down and grab yours! They are selling like hot cakes at $18 each only. (Im not sure of the usual price, but im very sure its very much cheaper since every customer is only entitle to buy 2!) Also spotted is the limited edition kit and makeup bag KOSE has collaborated with Kitty Lab, the exhibition will be on next month at the Singapore Expo, are u going? Well i am!

Im also uploading my newly 'implant' eyelashes for all to see. I thought they look pretty good since i only pay $57 for them. Its just the face washing that is making me crazy! Seriously i hope they dun drop off so soon, though i have already found one strand on my shoulder awhile ago. Boo boo.

hey i am also trying to show my huge forehead with a dash of rashes courtesy from Pucci's licking

i hope these work well

And for those who shows their concern after my previous post;
Im trying to live with my fats, so dun worry too much for me.
Pink of health is definitely more important at this age!

On Sunday, the Howe family had a brunch gathering at Pearl River Palace Restaurant.
The HB and I headed for the much looked forward to Expo Metro Sale.
Went home totally satisfied, armed with Friven's anti dust mite bedlinen protectors, clothings and more clothings.
Have i already mention clothings?
Monday was spent over at my folks, shopping at CWP in the afternoon.
Looted 3 new reads using my diner card's popular voucher for the next few days of PSLE marking.
Its such a steal, everything had only cost me $30!
Alrighty, im feeling super lazy already.
Pictures next!

We went public last Monday, taking the the train to SGH and later orchard from Aljunied.
I must say its a rather interesting experience; for it beens yorks since i take a train.
Didnt even know where to tap the card and was 'bump' rather painfully not once but twice by these plastic gantry.
But still im pretty impressed with the newer train cabins. I swear we shall go public more often next!
No more worries for hard-to-find carpark lots and scary ERP rates.
I declare public transportation to be so convenient in SIN!
Minus the medial report, we had a pretty good afternoon exploring the newly open ION.
Lunch was at this jap restaurant - Watami.
Food are decent for their price, (we spent only $32.30) and services are thumb up!
Will go there again anytime!

while waiting for the food, we were so caught by the lovely ambiance

the hungry man ordered a katsu toji lunch set while i had the doris kaise, all with complimentary salad, miso soup and drinks

shared this choco brownie and ice cream; smooth and yummy, a must try that is if u still have space for them

Popped by their new LV to check for the availability of the new initiales damier belt in black.
I called NAC last week and they told me the 110cm are all OSS for now, and that ION's might still have them in 100cm.
Unfortunately, the SA who was serving us wasnt the better ones:
First, the firm assurance that her store doesnt have any, and when we started to leave, said she might have them. She came back with a black 105cm and 110cm in brown.
The HB was so unhappy with the service, he decided not to buy it afterall.
I really think its high time Louis Vuitton sends their staffs for a refresher course on customer service. At least i dun have to endure this snobbishness when im in Chanel or Gucci...
Anyway, enough of ranting on these LV SAs whom many of my friends are also very displeased with.

I reported back to school on tues with the gift HB sent me last week.
Its this cute table display and a cuddly plush monkey.
We nick named him 348 and im carrying him around in my work bag for extra luck.

348 with the table display, i hope it doesnt wither since im going for my HCL marking this entire week

Its Don's 19th birthday tomorrow, the folks have reserved a table at Pearl River Palace for brunch.
The young chap got himself a nikon D90 for his birthday.
As much as im dying of thirst with all the drooling, the HB thinks the sony A330 is good enough for an amateur like me.
And so thats what i shall be getting with next year's LDS fund. Tee Hee...

Bliss
Supposingly!
But weather was bad. And there is no sign of the celestial body.
Seriously, i have looked everywhere.
Anywho, something to share:
I was woken up by my bio-clock early this morning, thinking its a working day.
Gosh, had even hit the man hard on his chest, telling him we were late for work, till he grumbled loudly "yeah right, its Saturday and ur late for work."
Oops, it must be the stress coming from the recent work. (totally embarrassed)

#PX-6 eyelashes + Heidi Klum glitter eyeliner from victoria secret

Saturday lunchie was at Kim Gary Vivocity. Its our first visit and food is tasty enough.
Now, if only their yuan yang is thicker and creamier...
Had also wanted to grab some last minute mooncakes for the folks. But whats left were either the very expensive or the not-so-well-known brands...
The HB ended up shopping at montagut and left 30 mins later a happy man with 4 brand new shirts for work :)

My hot and spicy noodle is perfect on a rainy afternoon; while the man seeks comfort in the chicken chop

Headed for the nearby Keppel Bay for some 'couple-time' at TCC as vivo was overly populated with kids running around.
The man cant stands crowds too well.

do excuse the coffee stain; his coffee and mine

the man was getting bored due to the rain; the orangery lighting is no good for photo taking

stayed till 7pm before heading back to MIL's for dinner and more mooncakes

Youth
Its been a really long day for both of us -
With moi reporting to school at 7.30am for the oral duty, and the man having his first paper at 9am.
While trying to keep awake for the rest of the day, moi cant wait for the day to end so that i can meet HB for dinner and mooncake shopping at CWP.
Had dinner at Siam Kitchen after suffering from a sever case of craving for Tom Yum. :)

they have really delicious thai food; and HB still manage to look incredibly awake; i wonder why?!

Gotten mooncakes from breadtalk for the folks this year. The festival is just around the corner, and we hardly have the time to drop by Takashimaya. Please dun ask me hows the taste though; im never a fan for mooncakes with all the yolks, they are so sweet they often give me headache.
The evening ended with the renewal of my PM membership with jessie. Its beens yorks since we metup. She counted and told me its been a year. OMG.
Anyway i was awfully disappointed that the figurine for next year is nothing to hooha about. But the figurine the HB picked is! And i wasnt even aware that i had in fact blog about it awhile ago!
Here i present: (You capture my heart #840063)

arent they such sweetie pie? In fact, he is holding a digital camera!

Just let me be, coz the sept hols is coming to an end.
And im so not ready to go back to work yet... (stamping my foot)
Anywho, pictures below were taken from the last few days.
Oh, just let me be me!

some recent medical research highlighted the side effects of wearing contact lenes
so here i am don in my greenie lacoste, truthful bumble-bee specs and birkens bought in Germany, getting ready to tear down the shops in CWP. (omhh, i like the way my naked face sparkles under the light)

i could smell the durian aroma even before i reached the store; puffs and chess mooncakes for the families

the pretentious driving though the F1 rally street last nite when we were on our way home

i simply have to buy this!  Isnt she chic? Worn them for the first time when i was out having my haircut today

im so into gold these days; meet the shoes im going to wear for the next 10 weeks in school, and do excuse my #1, she is just trying to seek attention from the owner.
I was at UNISIM yesterday as the set books for the coming module are finally available. As much as im trying to save $$$ by not getting kinsella's new hardcover, i spent $40 on these. (booboo)

bought this gorgeous full length frock from metro, very much greek inspired which i really like. But gosh, i cant think of a single occasion i can wear it though, coz its alittle too dressy.
Meet #1 again, i bought her out shopping today, and hey, she just made a new friend!

But i mean at Pearl River to be exact.
It was such a impromptu plan that i didnt even call to make reservation.
We ate so much that i could hardly walk after that.
Had to skip both lunch and dinner. Thats how seriously filled up i am.
The HB said all my net surf for the Chanel bag i wanted to buy is good enough to fill me up.
(Ha, very funny!)
Anyway, food and service was good as usual though i had to eat my share in between smses with colleagues for this mon's big event.

excuse my poor dining etiquette

.... the Promise Made To Be Broken

  • Aug. 28th, 2009 at 12:09 AM
Questionable
And im still burping non stop to my lappy screen while typing hard on the keyboard to finish up this entry.

Burrrp... excuse me.

Received SA Jason's call early in the morning to explain his plan for us to pick up the wedding band design from Suntec instead. He is such a sweetie to explain that his shop doesnt carry all the available designs and that we would have a wider selection to pick from at their flag store.
And so after cups of fruit tea, we finally decided on HB's current design, custom made to a smaller size of coz.
While walking back to meet Jason, the HB got busy analyzing the pros of picking one with a stone instead.
At least, we do not need to crack our brain (and our pocket) to get another pc of celestial jewellery using the pathetic outstanding amount from my current band.
Also, the HB knows his 'stone crazy' wife can never say no to add another bling bling to her collection.
Oh well, so its back to square one.
They will custom cast another similar wedding band, with a new 0.1 caret D colour VVS embedded within.
Alas, i didnt mean to break this promise of mine.
But to make it easier for both parties, this is the best choice!

We had dinner at Inle Myanmar with Don after that. The food is definitely worth visiting again so soon.

Bill added up to slightly less than $50 with the UOB 1 dines free for every 2 dinner sets order; Myanmar food is really good!

wore red officially after 49 days
